Early Television - Sanity in the Debate

Check out this fresh voice of reason in the early tv (does it harm young children?) quagmire...

Lisa Guernsey provides a synopsis of the early tv studies in my previous post on her blog at Salon. A science journalist and mother, Guernsey got interested in the question of whether tv is harming young children. Her book, Into the Minds of Babes: How Screen Time Affects Children From Birth to Age Five was just published by Basic Books in September. I can't wait to get my hands on it. You can read her interview with Katharine Mieszkowski at Salon. Three cheers for Guernsey who points out the hodge podge results claiming tv causes harm - putting some much-needed perspective into the early tv soup. BTW, she lets her young children watch television.
